Sally Army Post

At the end of last year I "stepped down" (???) as bandmaster after ten years (I think). So I have got my old cornet out and started to practice a bit (So I don't embarrass myself too much). As soon as I have started playing it has started to fall apart and so has gone for repair.

Hope it comes back OK. And less bent

When you became the BM, did you "step up"? ;-)

Unless i'm mistaken - that is a Boosey and Hawkes 1960's ish, Sovereign Cornet. Or am i way off? lol.

I know...i'm sad for knowing this...

Hmm not sure about stepping up, your where definitely up there to be knocked down.:)

Sorry Lewis, the cornet is a late 1980s Besson soveriegn 928. Sadly very sick and in bits at the repairers still. It looks like the older model because its a bit beaten up.
Heather and I where completely penniless for a couple of months after we bought it.

Couple of months!

Overdrawn for six months after YOU bought it - is how I remember it.

But as it's given you so much pleasure I guess it was worth it...

Ah - needs a clean then :P. I was close enough though. Around the time of the Change-over of names. Very good instrument though.
